For you future writers, actors, models, producers, directors, etc..... how to
prepare for Hollywood?
Prepare for all that Hollywood has in store...... regardless of what it is you
do, understand it all
* Read tons of scripts, EVEN IF YOU ARE A MODEL..... don't you want to be open
to be a spokes model ????? Know how scripts are set up, how the process is on paper, understand how you will coincide with actors and filming
crews, because you will work with them eventually. We
now live in an entertainment environment where musical celebrities are all over
in the film world, IE Usher, Chris Brown, John Legend, Justin
Timberlake... and the same goes for models coming up....
REMEMBER THIS IF ANYTHING ~ Structure
is everything ( in entertainment ) if you are studying the art of acting, writing, producing, or
following / understanding scripting as a model / producer. Every aspect of art
has a structure. Yes, acting is an art, modeling is an art, singing is an
art........For instance, in film, it is easy to write a
script, and it is easy to read one, but you also want to study the ins and
outs of a script. What makes following, and writing scripts hard is reading or writing a great story,
grasping the plot, pulling the reader or viewer in, both with words and
actions... thus how movie making / commercials / and spokes modeling works .......... whether your the
writer, the actor, a model in a commercial, or the person producing .........
We live in a new day and age where making it in this business means you have to
understand and master the ideology behind all facets of our business.... Just
looking good will ( NOT ) cut it, not when there are models out there that can
do it all. I hope this is not overwhelming, you just have to take baby steps and
start researching and reading about the business and how it is that you fit
in.
* The more you write, act, model, or produce...
the better you
get, like muscles. For instance, dialogue will always be bad when you first
start writing because you will write how you want other people to sound, or you
will write how you perceive others should talk. Your first 10 photo shoots, or
your 1st monologue you read will be full of jitters...... You will get over this
and move forward, just be confident while you are learning....
Understanding Hollywood is quite
different from New York and the rest of the world. Hollywood is built on the
movie making mecca of the galaxy. Movies consist of actors, models, writers, producers,
directors, all the way down to the production assistants.... and even the
interns on set; understand each
role, what the people do, and why. As long as your asking questions, promoting
yourself, and networking ( coming up in the book ) you will get a grip on
everything mentioned, and slowly build yourself up!
