Direct Marketing

This is the 3rd form of marketing used today. It is finding the exact people that can appreciate your art form, and promoting yourself to them. I have already covered some basics in my promoting section, however, I am going to give you some examples of how direct marketing has worked for me and my past experiences, and then give some ideas as to what you can do.

When I was about 7 years old, Domonique Wilkins, a professional basketball player was in town as his team played the Milwaukee Bucks. As Dom was walking across the sky walk to his hotel, I stopped him to ask him for an autograph. Not only did he give me an autograph, but he put it on his sock, and gave me his long signed sock. I suppose my dad wasn't too happy about it, however, Dom became my favorite player in the NBA. I followed him until he wasn't playing any more. I even found out he was in Orlando while I was on the air, and I incorporated him in some of our events that gave kids a chance to meet celebrities. This was too early for me to realize that it was his direct meet with me that made me love watching him play. I know that it is impossible to meet everyone you will entertain with your craft. As a matter of fact, you may only meet .0001% of the admirers you gain, however, if you go out of your way to meet as many people as possible, you will gain a strong following, a strong word of mouth, and a strong direct marketing strategy built into personalizing the you..... This will certainly put you with people that you can Network with in the future. This is one way ........
