Getting started on networking today. Talk to people around you, ask what
they do, and always ask for the business card. Once you have a business card
write the e-mail address on the back, even if the business card has an e-mail
address on it, simply because sometimes business cards have business
e-mail addresses and you want to get the most personable way to contact this
person. Always strike up conversations with your friends about what your into
and what your doing next. This way you can always communicate your being and
people around you will enquire if they are interested in knowing more.
* Talk to people you work with about the new projects your working on
* If your in a band, make sure everyone you know has a CD and your internet
address
* If your an actor, make sure you always have head shots to give out, and of
course the business card !
* If your a dancer, you too should have some paraphernalia that has your work on
it
* If your a model, start out by contacting club owners and offering free work to
them to get on flyers, or in store ads etc..... network with anyone affiliated
with business, which means you should get at least 2 business cards a day and
start a collection. " I am a new model, can I get some information about doing
some work for you in the future ?"
* Singers, call your local DJ's and ask for help with ?'s, go to conventions, ask questions at studios, talk to engineers, call professionals in the business and learn from them
* Bands in general, call different Entertainment Lawyers, talk to other band management, network with on line sites, and network with other bands verses competing with them
I am sure you get the picture regardless of what your doing,
this is the start to networking yourself to meet new people.
