You are given a place to place your resume, air check, and information for others to view. I do want to stress that this should not be your way of reaching out to future employers alone. I have researched over 100 PD's that have shown their frustration in talent that simply stop sending out physical packages and only send out links to web sites. Yes, these services you will learn about are important for you to utilize if you want to guarantee maximum exposure of yourself, but think of it as a bait and hook feature. Your on line profile, MP3, and resume should be bait on a hook for potential (PD's ) to catch their attention. Once you have their attention, reel them in with a dynamic package that exemplifies your hunger and passion for radio. As a matter of fact, in your on line profiles, make sure you stress that you are well prepared to send your physical package to a potential employer upon request. At least this way you are showing you are a well prepared and an assertive potential employee that is well equipped with information that can be sent in for review. Remember, a (PD) that is interested in your work has to sell you to their ( GM ) and consultant as well. You probably wouldn't tell the ( GM ) " yo man, load up my web site " so don't expect the (PD) to promote you that way either. A (PD) or consultant will need your physical package to make a few copies of your demo, as well as your resume and other pertinent information to give to the higher ups that want to know who they are hiring. These services are in the early phases of development, however more and more programmers are surfing the web for the next star talent, so being a part of this on line world will definitely help you if you are hungry and you want to expose yourself as much as possible.
