My Last
Poem Part 1

My last poem arrived
by morning stage coach
and caused no reaction
as It entered by the half open wooden door.
My last poem slowly entered the half lit room
with a cigerette lighter, wearing loose fit pants
and a soft wool sweater to shield the cold rain.
Having
said
"good morning"
sitting comfortably
on a soft clothed chair, begins
announcing
"I am the last poem"
no one doubted
no one answered
no one stopped working
to read it
and no one showed appreciation.....
It opened a book from Whitman
took a coffee with a lot of sugar
smoked a cigarette
and kept
waiting
until it faded
and become lost
No one noticed the ashes that lay silent to the darkened
passing day into the deepest of frosting nights....
Only to be forgotten and never brought up in conversation....
My
last poem arrived
not like death
but the way some lives pass;
with no one noticing.

my prayers to the ones who think they go un noticed
i am touched every day when i read the paper..... The last poem is a series
about wonder and mystique hiding, read all parts slowly to discover the
last poem!
